Maria Kikoler, a German artist who found her artistic home in Brazil, brings a unique blend of influences and talents to the creative landscape. After studying Fine Arts in Belgium, Kikoler ventured to Brazil at the age of 17, where she immersed herself in the world of advertising for six years, honing her skills in gouaches, drawings, and silkscreens.

In 1967, Kikoler experienced a transformative revelation as she discovered the same transparency and depth in threads that she had previously found in paints. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of her exploration into the realm of textile art. In 1969, she held her first exhibition, unveiling her distinctive markings on canvas. Her artistic approach evolved to incorporate a delicate interplay of planes, where each element influences and interacts with the others, creating an ethereal sense of transference and lightness.
